Green Technology Institute

Green Tech Institute helps youth and local communities understand and respond to AI’s impacts on equity, jobs, and the environment. We do this through student led research and education to create findings and recommendations for schools, libraries, youth organizations, and workplaces.

Our work focuses on three areas: (1) research on AI’s environmental footprint and compute efficiency, (2) research and case studies on bias and unequal outcomes in application of AI for grading and hiring, and (3) equity modeling for students to assess disproportionate affects and power loss from AI.

By studying the safeguards/protections necessary, we create policy/recommendations and assessments for local decision makers to adopt.
