Green Technology Institute works with various US and International initiatives at local, state and federal levels to showcase viable solutions, innovative entrepreneurs and their green technology development companies. Programs are conducted in partnership with the private sector, state and local government, USDA & DOE Labs, universities and other stakeholders.
Goals The Green Technology Institute is committed to reducing dependence on foreign oil and developing energy efficient technologies for buildings, homes, transportation, power systems and industry. Its mission is to strengthen energy security, environmental quality, and economic vitality in public-private partnerships, making a difference in the everyday lives of Americans by enhancing their energy choices and quality of life.
History The Institute was founded in 2005 through the vision of Gurminder Singh and Les Hamasaki the Managing Director of The Tom Bradley Legacy Foundation, part of the Tom Bradley International Hall at UCLA. The focus of the Institute is to bring awareness and assistance to budding green entrepreneurs, technologies and businesses. In addition, the Institute offers a network of green forums, symposiums, conferences and strategic advisers. This coming year we are actively diversifying our support towards solar energy, wind energy, innovative hydro-kinetic forms of power generation and integrated sustainable farming techniques while organizing the 2010, "GreenAction, GreenAwards". A Global Award Ceremony in Los Angeles with the support of Hollywood, the Music Industry, Advertising Agencies, Global NGOs, Emerging Green Business and Existing Corporations Going Green.
Wall street is indicating that the Greentrend movement is 100 times larger than the internet revolution was and will be far more sustainable in its long term economic impact. Since the trend towards implementing green technology and business solutions began, the market has seen dramatic increase in both the capital market and government support. In this regard, With the passing of the American Recovery Act 2009 and the new proposed Energy Department's Comprehensive Energy Diversification Plan, the energy industry will diversify it's resources from coal, nuclear, oil and gas towards renewable sources of energy production, high efficiency appliances, zero emission and other appropriate green technologies. |
